The
Turn Around Program
Turn
Around has been in business since 1983 and is a 12-step based structured
living environment. We are approved by the Georgia Bureau of Pardons and
Paroles, a provider for the Dekalb County Community Service Board, and a
provider for Vocational Rehabilitation.
The
program is 9-12 months. Clients are not required to stay that long;
however, if a client is serious about recovery and would like to receive
a certificate of completion, or required to receive a completion
certificate, the requirements are as follows:
·
Have 9
consecutive months clean and sober in the Turn Around program
·
Attend 12-step meetings, acquired a 12-step sponsor, and find a home group
·
Work steps 1-9 of the 12 Steps
·
Adhere to Turn Around rules and regulations
·
Be current on fees
·
Complete an exit plan with the Residential
Supervisor
Turn Around staff will
administer step work. As it is turned in and approved, the client will
earn additional privileges (getting off Buddy System, eligibility for day
passes, eligibility for weekend passes [provided there is an approved
place to go and a plan for the weekend for meeting attendance and contact
number], later curfews, opportunity to become Senior Resident of the
unit).
Clients are allowed to be
employed (1st shift only); NO 2nd or 3rd
shift work is allowed. Clients are allowed to enroll in a daytime
outpatient program, go to school, or do volunteer work at local hospitals
or community centers.
Clients are required to be out
of the units between the hours of 9AM and 3PM Monday-Friday. Weekly
schedules are to be posted and no one is allowed in the units during
these hours unless it is a scheduled day off, the client is ill, or a
client has received prior approval from staff. Clients are required to
attend and document at least one (1) 12-step meeting daily, or two (2)
while job searching. In addition Turn Around has three (3) mandatory in-house
meetings per week (Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 PM at our office, Sunday
at 9:00 PM in the unit).
Clients reside in three-bedroom
apartments, two clients per room. Residences are located where public
transportation is available; personal vehicles are allowed if the client
has proof of valid license and insurance.
The fees are $875.00 for the
first month. After the first month fees can be paid monthly ($800) or
weekly ($185). Fees include housing, utilities, local phone, cable TV,
random drug screens and breathalyzers, and in-house meetings. Clients are
responsible for their own food and transportation.
